On-Site
You don’t need to venture far to find our on-site amenities, all manned by Dunster Beach Chalet staff to help you as needed and give advice and recommendations. A launderette and a shop are open daily, as well as the Kingfisher Café serving a variety of light bites and fuller meals for those times when you don’t feel like cooking.
Free Wi-Fi can be enjoyed in the café, and the putting green is available for those who’d like to get competitive.
Dunster Village
Should you choose to venture a little further afield, you’ll find the village of Dunster right on your doorstep. A far cry from some of the nearby resorts, Dunster is a locale rich in history dating all the way back to the Iron Ages; and with a population of just over 800, you can be sure of a friendly chat with the locals whenever you nip by.
Overlooked by the impressive Dunster Castle, the village is perfect for leisurely strolls and offers a variety of shops, pubs and cafes for visitors to enjoy. If you’re visiting in May you can see the historic custom of the Minehead Hobby Horse visiting the village and being received at the castle; or if in August, see the Dunster Show and explore the produce of local businesses and producers showcasing their best wares.
Nearby, visitors can explore the various nature trails (one of three Exmoor National Park Visitors Centres can be found in the centre of Dunster) through the stunning moorland and woodland of the area afoot or opt for the West Somerset Railway for a faster tour. This 20-mile heritage railway course spans the Bristol Channel Coast and is recommended for its unrivalled views and historic richness.
Dunster Beach Chalets offer a unique insight into this beautiful corner of the world, balancing the solitude of the coast, countryside and National Park with all of the modern amenities and activities that can keep you busy when needed.
